You can make your very own beautiful valentines Bunting and create that special touch for your cosy home cooked romantic evening ❤️️

All you need is:

  • an empty puree tube

  • a wooden spoon or similar to flatten your tube

  • a pair of scissors

  • a pen or pencil

  • an embroidery needle or similar blunt ended thin instrument for detailing

  • some embroidery or crafting wire

  • a needle for making a hole through the tube shapes

Start by cutting the nozzle end of your puree tube off and then cutting down one side of the rectangular shaped tube that is left to open the tube up

Wash your puree tube/tubes throughly in hot water using washing up liquid

with a flat object, a wooden spoon or the end of a knife, smooth out your puree tubes so they are nice and flat

now using a stencil or the shape sheet I have attached below as a PDF, draw around your shapes with a pen followed by the needle to indent the surface slightly with your shape.

when you have drawn out all your shapes you can then begin to start cutting them out

When you have finished cutting all your shapes out you can then begin decorating them with your blunt needle or similar object - a pencil will do.

I used a range of different patterns to decorate mine but you can use whatever you choose. maybe even add your initials or your names to make it really unique to you.

Next you are going to pierce holes in the top of your little heart shapes and then thread about 2m of wire through them and then hang them where you like.

these look amazing with some fairy lights and foliage to really create a lovely warm atmosphere.

why not use this method of decoration for other events such as Christmas or parties or even lettering - you could use star shapes and crescents or even pumpkin and bat shapes for halloween.

Why not share your garland with me on instagram - just tag me on your picture @katieoldhaus and I will share your make.

ENJOY!

Let me know what you think in the comments.
